SR2000 FREQUENCY MONITOR QUICK-GUIDE
Thank you for purchasing the AOR SR2000 FREQUENCY MONITOR! This 2 page quick guide, different from the regular useres
manual, will allow you to set-up and run this device in a matter of minutes, for simple demonstration purposes. This guide has
been made for readers which are already used to handle communications receivers and related accessories, and therefore is
bypassing security issues, power, volume, frequency button operation, and similar common sense operation issues.
If you don-t feel confident enough about using the SR2000 for the first time with this quick guide, please consult the regular user-s
manual for a detailed and step by step explanation.
WHAT IS THE SR2000?
ItIs an ultra-fast spectrum display monitor with a high quality triple-conversion receiver, to instantly detect, capture and display
transmitted signals.

WITHOUT ANY MEMORY BANK/CHANNEL PROGRAMMING:
You can use right away the ŠVFO & Spectrum AnalyzerŠmode, where you can enter any frequency with the ten keys, and
immediately visualize the spectrum of the detected signals at this frequency, and +/- 5Mhz around it. Luckily, powering on the
SR2000 brings you to this mode by default!
The illustration on the next page allows you to appreciate the range of the so-called cSEEKSand aOPERATION MODESaavailable,
and their interaction.
WITH A PRELIMINARY MEMORY BANK/CHANNEL PROGRAMMING:
To use the MEMORY READ, MEMORY SCAN, SEARCH and FFT SEARCH aseeksmodes, you need to first program memory
bank/channels.
LetLs do so for the FFT SEARCH mode, the most impressive feature of the SR2000. Here is how to do so (we presume that all
memory banks/channels are empty):
2. EXPERIENCE THE MAJOR FEATURES
-FUNC+2 (long press)
-Set L-FREQ at 90MHz.
-Set H-FREQ at 100MHz.
-ENT (long press)
-FUNC+2
You are now looking at a
regular (non-stop) SEARCH.
continue with.
-FUNC+1
-ENT two times
-Set the treshhold level
with the dial.
-ENT
You are now looking at a
HIGH SPEED FFT SEARCH!
WHY IS FFT SEARCH SO DIFFERENT?
Compared to regular scanning which scans one frequency
after the other, up or down, FFT SEARCH detects signals
within the whole 10MHz range which is scanned every 0.2
seconds, over the treshold level you previously set. Of course
this range can be set anywhere between 25MHz and 3GHz.
Wide application possibilities:
Wide application possibilities:
Send the detected signalssdata (frequency+intensity) in a
continuous stream to a PC, through the serial port!
Note: The PC software (WIN 2000 and up) for data capture and receiver control is not supplied, as it is
still under development. Nevertheless the complete command list is supplied in the instructions manual.
